We are excited to share our new project for the Onchain Foundation, a non-profit collective dedicated to advancing blockchain technology. Through their Web3 research platform Onchain, they empower businesses and individuals to adopt Web3 solutions. Our role was to develop a key feature of their ecosystem: Onchain Collectibles. Onchain Collectibles include articles, store items, and research reports, creating a seamless connection between Web3 innovation and practical, accessible knowledge.

Before diving into the details of the project, let’s introduce the Onchain Foundation and its mission.

Humanity on chain and unchained

The Onchain Foundation is a non-profit collective of individuals passionate about blockchain and its potential to improve the world for all humans. Their mission is to provide knowledge, resources, and tools that empower businesses to integrate blockchain into their operations, solving current and future challenges. The Onchain Foundation has built several different projects including Lisk, Pass App, Klayr, Collect, and Onchain is one of them.

The Onchain Web3 research platform provides access to research, resources, and also exclusive store items. Through platforms like Onchain, they bring blockchain research, articles, and exclusive store items directly into the decentralized Web3 world, making it accessible to a broad audience.

Onchain: Web3 research platform

Onchain is a Web3 research platform offering in-depth analysis, practical use cases, and educational articles about blockchain technology. From online magazines to comprehensive research reports, Onchain aims to demystify blockchain’s possibilities for businesses and individuals alike. One of their primary goals is to convert this wealth of knowledge into valuable digital assets through the Onchain Collectibles project.

Onchain Collectibles: Articles, Reports, and Store items as NFTs

Onchain Collectibles is a collection of digital assets available to users, allowing them to claim articles, store items, and research reports as NFTs. By transforming these resources into digital collectibles, the Onchain Foundation enhances their accessibility, creating an interactive experience where users can engage with the content and trade NFTs on platforms like Rarible.

Our involvement

Our role in the Onchain Collectibles project was to bring NFT infrastructure to life on their platform. We began by integrating the system directly with their existing WordPress site, laying the foundation for a smooth user experience. We implemented NFT infrastructure into the Onchain platform, creating a seamless interaction between the site and its new blockchain features. This enabled smooth interaction for users accessing the platform.

We developed three custom smart contracts, one for article NFTs, another for research reports, and a third for store items, allowing users to collect these resources as unique digital assets. Then we integrated Web3 wallet functionality, empowering users to connect their wallets, mint NFTs, claim reports, and track their collectibles. Once claimed, these NFTs can also be traded on platforms like Rarible, adding an extra layer of utility and engagement for the users.

Using a tech stack that included WordPress (PHP) for backend integration, Solidity for smart contract development, and Web3modal (Reown) for wallet connectivity, we ensured smooth interaction between users and the platform.

Our team also developed the "My Collectibles" page, where users can view and manage their digital assets. In addition to displaying claimed NFTs, the page features a detailed claim history, allowing users to track when and what they’ve collected, whether it’s an article, report, or store item.

Each claimed NFT also earns the user points, which are displayed on their personalized dashboard. The dashboard tracks the total points earned from each collectible and reflects the user's overall rank in the system, encouraging further engagement and interaction with the platform. This gamified approach adds an extra layer of utility, rewarding users as they participate.

The role of Mintdash

A crucial part of this project’s success was the use of Mintdash, our white-label solution for launching and managing NFT projects.

Through Mintdash, we implemented a custom ERC1155 collection for articles, reports, and store items, and prepared an ERC721 collection for the upcoming Onchain Membership NFTs. Features like webhooks for real-time updates and gas sponsorship for transaction fee coverage made the platform more accessible and user-friendly. This integration streamlined the NFT collection process, offering Onchain Foundation a scalable, efficient solution for managing their growing NFT infrastructure.

Mintdash’s white-label product allowed us to streamline the entire process while offering Onchain Foundation a powerful, scalable solution to manage their NFT infrastructure.

Looking Ahead: Onchain Membership

The Onchain Membership NFT collection is set to launch soon, providing users with exclusive access to premium content and features on the Onchain platform. We are proud to continue our partnership with the Onchain Foundation, working together to deliver innovative solutions that empower users and businesses in the Web3 space.

The Membership NFTs will unlock a range of exclusive benefits, enhancing the user experience and engagement on the platform.
