In collaboration with the StoneBlock association from Split, our team has built one of the first Croatian NFT marketplaces Endemic which officially launched on 22.02.2022. Now, about a year and a half later, we finished and released the third version of this app.

About Endemic

Endemic is a decentralized marketplace for digital assets that runs on blockchain. What differentiates it from other marketplaces is its social aspect. It’s built for artists, buyers, and collectors to connect through art by liking, commenting, and sharing art pieces. In the latest version, there’s also a blog section where the community can learn more about NFTs and art. Moreover, Endemic is an invite-only marketplace on Aurora for a hand-picked number of talented artists with premium quality art pieces. The vision behind the new update

Although the initial product was already a success, the Endemic team collected community feedback and started looking for ways to improve the existing app. There was always an idea to make Endemic the house of curated digital art that only features work from curated artists and introduces artists to the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain. The new version of Endemic aims to make the platform a go-to place for anyone who enjoys premium art. This is achieved through gallery access, app visitors feel as if they’re attending a real-life exhibition. Moreover, Endemic has reduced fees for artists, encouraging them to publish and sell their work digitally.

What’s new?

As we have already worked on previous versions of Endemic and know the project inside-out, there weren’t too many development challenges. However, a few things were new for us. This time we collaborated with an external design agency. Their main goal was to provide Endemic users with gallery access.

The most noticeable updates were on the frontend as there’s a brand-new design that was implemented with Next.js 13 and Tailwind. As we’ve already mentioned, there’s a blog that offers valuable insight into the world of art on the blockchain. Also, users can choose between three themes: light, dark, and Endemic theme.

The design isn’t the only thing that changed, so let’s uncover what’s under the hood!

First, all auctions become gasless and there are new contracts with NFT minting approvals. There were also some updates regarding the indexer. The new philosophy is to make it more integrated with the API and highly customizable. What’s more, jobs and sockets result in a much better user experience.

Needless to say, there are many updates we’ve got on our to-do list that we won’t be revealing just yet! However, keep following us to be the first to know when it goes live!
